TV AM ITV Part 1 28th January, 1992 This was the first in a set of three short interviews shown on consecutive mornings on British Television. It announced the news of Neil's summer tour of this country.

The show began with Neil singing If There Were No Dreams. This was from the promo video he had made in his recording studios. (VH1 to One) |

The interviewer then said that Neil was busy rehearsing for his next concert tour. He was going to interview him at the rehearsal studios. We then saw Neil arrive at the studios on his Harley. |

He stood up from the bike, raised his arm and shouted : "We are here - Let us make history - Hi England" |
The interviewer asked Neil to give his thoughts on touring. He replied - "I am not TOO outgoing but I AM outgoing and I don't mind presenting my music on stage. I am not an outrageously flamboyant person but on stage I have a chance to be that - that certain thing that I'm not really. You know, bigger than I really am - be a star - be a rock'n roll star even! So I like that - that's fun. |

But it's not exactly the way I go around. I don't wear these costumes! I like to work. I like to make music up - that's my job. I create music. Where there's silence I put music. If I'm lucky and God is on my side that day, it's beautiful music. It's as simple as that."
Then the programme moved to film taken inside the rehearsal studio. It was explained that most of Neil's band had been with him for between ten to twenty years. |

Then Neil spoke about his revolving stage. " It's a different experience because you don't end up the song where you started it. Everyone is enjoying it. The band like where they are and I like to move all over and get closer to the audience. I like that - that's what I keep trying to do - get as close as I possibly can, physically, emotionally, musically in every possible way. I want to reach out to the audience and this stage allows me to do it better than anything I have ever worked on. So I am very excited about it." |

Peter Morris then said that Neil's 21 year old son, Jesse, would be playing on the tour. He added that when dad is the boss, it does not necessarily mean an easy ride. Jesse introduced King and .......... |

Neil shouted out at them - "Hey guys, no talking during rehearsals. That'll cost you each five!" Jesse laughingly explained that they had just been fined. |
Morris then informed us that fans would be pleased to know as well as the new songs there would be room for a few old favourites in the show. Like for instance Cracklin Rosie - a classic song. Neil went on to tell the story of how he came to write Cracklin Rosie - |

"Cracklin Rosie is about a bottle of wine, very cheap wine called Cracklin Rose, the cheapest wine you can get. I was told the story about an Indian Reservation in Canada. For the men who didn't have dates on a Saturday night, their dates would be Cracklin Rose. I thought this would make a nice title for a song and I wrote a song called Cracklin Rosie." |
